Salem Hill #2 cover
THE HERE AND NOW

what do you say
to the people that you've just let silp away?
What do you do
for the times when easy streets were not for you?

And I know-------when you were walking that fine line
Who's to know----that's when you left me far behind
I don't know

The here and now
Where do you want to be?
Right here and now
What's here and now
What is it you belleve?
The here and now

Do you wonder
about the magic and the spell it's got you under?
Running so hard
in pursuit of something real, high in the stars

Are you thinking
that you're on a ship of fools and slowly sinking?
Do you care?
After all they're only words, something to share

BRAVE NEW WORLD

we've come so far so fast, a light for all the world to see
A monumental dream, the right for us to all be free
In Irony we're all in irons;
the prisoners of this very right
protect the wrong and serve the few,
the many cast out of the light

Look all around for the brave new world
there's not a sound from the brave new world
nothing is found in the brave new world
here where the light is shut out

A history so rich, the path of progress led us here
A universal call, a beckoning to all that hear
in melting pots were melting down
progressive paths are left behind
in search of ideology invented ln polluted minds

A nation in decline, an easy prey for foreign lands
there is no future here, we're bound to fall in evil hands
It's time to take up root and leave this place we call our own
colonial again, to brave new worlds we'll all call home

Look all around it's the brave new world
Trumpets will sound in the brave new world
Freedom abounds in the brave new world
Here where eternal light shines

SAME PLANET DIFFERENT WORLDS

You do the things I do, but we're not much alike
I can't relate to you, and others of your type
We ran together in our youth
but now we hold different views of truth
I can't see where you're coming from
And therefore I put up my shield

Side by side and face to face
And into each other we're hurled
It doesn't matter how close we become
same pIanet, different worlds

Together we run the race
but you don't seek the goal I seek
while you're just keeping place
I go forward the prize to reach
I don't know when your departure came
I just know that you are not the same
I can't explain your apostasy
Suspicious I put up my guard

QUESTION OF HONOR

There's a time in a man's life when he needs to let go
The dreams he had for his little boy, his little boy's outgrown
"Catch the ball now use two hands never let it fAll
Remember out there ln the game keep your eye on the ball. "

Chasing shadows in the grass, discovery's his game
The sky's the limit of his youth hard to keep the young man tame
Daddy says it's time for school, twelve years the plan
Before you know it's time to go, he graduates a man

Sail on, set the world ablaze
keep your dreams at hand
keep them all amazed

"Son, you make your daddy proud, it's all there for you.
Become the man that I am and you can do it too."
No. daddy, no I don't believe it, it's just not for me
You have your dreams, I have mine, it's mine I want to be

Now some boys do indeed grow up to fill daddy's shoes
And other boys feel that they must do what they choose
No matter what the choice might be keep that glove on
For should you ever drop that ball it's gonna be long gone.

CAN'T LET GO

Every day's another struggle. Never seem to reach an end
Like a palm tree in a sea storm watch to see how far we'll bend
Everybody seems so focused, chasing dollars in the wind
Can we rise above the chaos, set the standard from within?

I can't let go-------got to hold on to what I know
The world's my home--do I dare to stand out alone?
I can't let go

I've heard lt said a thousand times: "There's gotta be a purpose here!".
Clock ln, clock out human robots, staying here in fear of there.
I wish I was a pioneer brave to forge a new frontier,
Like a leader with a vision, straight and narrow, crystaI clear

Watch out now the water's rising. Drowning those who will not fight.
In the sky the gray clouds form, turning all our days to night.
I wish I was a lighthouse beacon on a mountain shining bright.
Leading others safely homeward, giving out a guiding light.

THERE'S ALWAYS CANADA

We set to sail last night. It was dark and you were there.
Remember what the old man told us: "The northern sea is angry and cold."
And though our hearts were heavy, to stay was not a choice.

We left you there last night, streaming tears and broken dreams.
we never thought that we could leave you, maybe someday we'll be free
to Join your glorious return to truth. But now there's nothinq there.

Oh Canada, there's always Canada: a shadow of our home
A friendly neighbor but not our own
oh Canada, there's always Canada: A haven in the storm
We'll hang our hats here until the Great Reform.

We watched you drift away, a slow departure from older ways
A creeping fleeing from the spirit of which our children should inherit
Now we see no future, no lessons from the poet.

Long, long ago on a soil that's foreign now
we used to be people with a soul
Passing along to our heirs a legacy
Sound promises of a peaceful home
See where it's gone, nothing but a memory
How could it end? Faded majesty
Your generation led, our generation bled.

We want you back again, Oh Beautiful for Spacoius Skies
And even though you have betrayed us
there is no doubt you were the greatest.
And as we fight to stay warm, we'll wait for your return.

INVISIBLE

Here we are in the turning world
haven't done much haven't really heard
what it is we're all supposed to be
Always changing from day to day
never still get out of my way
who are you to judge what you don't see?
I know your name I know your game
I've got to be Invisible

Swinging back and forth the pendulum
power shifting in the kingdom
only love will make the world go 'round
Black flags flying in the pouring rain
landscapes change yet we remain
you don't see me but you can feel my scream
Fruit of the dead inside my head
I've got to be Invisible

Sunny one day then clouds the next
soon this weather's gonna kill me yet
gonna leave this place never see my face today
Don't want you to know what makes me high
I don't want you to see me cry
Bury my flesh in dunes so far away
You'll never see what's inside me
I've got to be Invisible

LISTEN TO ME

In a vision I saw a hundred lonely people
standing around staring at the ground
In the midst of them a voice crying from the wilderness
saying listen to me I can set you free
Here stands salvation here grows ambition
There lies destruction there rests stagnation

Sing me your siren song
'cause it won't be long, yes it won't be long
sing me your siren song
you must right your wrongs you must stand up strong

Can you set me free? I am here and I will listen to you
teach me my friend, I will understand
so together they went out to spread the word around
some would believe, others would not see
Look deep in my eyes see the truth in all the lies
strong are the winds and skies who's blind is he who dies
I watched the heavens break, then all knew their mistake
They all betrayed his word, for this their souls will burn

As I witnessed, he took his right hand man with him
saying hope is no more, they have closed the door
Then he saw me and he said to me,
"These things you know won't ever be if you listen to me!"
